Welcome!
    Providence   Presbyterian   Church   is   a   confessionally   Reformed congregation  located   in  Southwest  Virginia, a  largely rural area filled with  majestic  mountains,  rolling  hills,  and  a  rich  history.   We are a down-to-earth and friendly group of people who delight in the fellowship of the saints  in corporate  worship where God feeds us by His Word and sacraments  and   where  we  humbly  draw  near  to  Him  in  reverential prayer.

     We believe  the Bible  is the divinely inspired,  inerrant,  and infallible Word of God to mankind  for salvation and instruction on holy living in Jesus Christ,  the only true Savior.   As such, we are firmly committed to the preaching  of the gospel of grace through  Jesus Christ  to all peoples and also to ongoing Bible study for growth in Christian faith and life.

     We invite you to browse  this Web site to find out more about us and our denomination.  If you are in our area, we cordially invite you to join us for Sunday worship and mid-week Bible study.
How lovely is Your Tabernacle, O LORD of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Psalm 84:1-2 & 10

*The prints of John Calvin and the Westminster Abbey at the top of this page were provided by
Reformation Art.

*John Calvin (1509-1564) was the French Protestant Reformer of the 16th century who spent most of his life in Geneva, Switzerland where he served as pastor, preached, and wrote theological treatises and Bible commentaries.  Along with John Knox (1513-1572), who was instructed for a time in Geneva, Calvin is recognized as a father of Presbyteriansm.

*Westminster Abbey is located in London, England and was the location where a group of Reformed minsters gathered in the 17th century to compose the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms, which are the confessional  standards of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church
